Ms. O’Donnell Recognized as the FCPS 2021 Region 1 Outstanding Secondary New Teacher

Five Additional Seahawk Staff Members Recognized at FCPS Honors!

amber o'donnellCongratulations to Learning Disabilities Teacher Amber O’Donnell who was recognized as the FCPS 2021 Region 1 Outstanding Secondary New Teacher and one of the six finalists for the FCPS Outstanding Secondary New Teacher at this year's FCPS Honors event, held at Jiffy Lube Live on June 9th.

Amber makes strong contributions to the culture of excellence at South Lakes High School. She is a strong advocate for students and believes that they can succeed no matter their ability and background. As a teacher for students with disabilities, she uses a variety of teaching techniques to ensure that she meets the unique needs of her students. Her classroom is filled with a culture of acceptance – her students feel comfortable expressing themselves and asking questions when they arise. Amber believes passionately that every student at South Lakes is one of her students. She has contributed to many intervention programs and participates as part of the SIIP committee working on helping South Lakes to be the best school it can be.
