To encourage involvement in school activities, our leadership students, under the direction of teachers Jill Pellerin and Lyn Fiscus, sponsored a block party with information about school clubs, sports, and activities.  Leadership students contacted school clubs and groups, as well as local businesses, with an invitation to participate.  Students encouraged participants to plan interactive activities to engage students and were responsible for mapping where each group would go and providing signage, music, and games. Fiscus said, “As a leadership teacher, I really like this event because it gives the leadership students their first real taste of making an event happen.  They see right away that their efforts created an event that affected many students and helped get the year off to a positive start
