PSAT/NMSQT Testing

PSAT/SAT School Day is on Wednesday October 11thStudents participating should arrive at school as normal. Morning school buses will be running normally that day. There will be a 2-hour early release (buses will leave at 12:55).

Note: If a student was approved by college board for the extended time accommodation, there will be a bus at 3 PM for these students.

 

The SAT is only offered to seniors only. Seniors had to sign up for the SAT ahead of time. Registration is now closed. Students who registered received a confirmation email to their fcpsschools.net account. Any student who did not sign up ahead of time, should NOT attend school on Wednesday October 11. Students present for the SAT will be marked TST in SIS. Any senior not attending school on October 11 will be marked USD (unscheduled school day) in SIS. Twelfth grade students who will not be testing are encouraged to use this day to participate in civic engagement activities or other prearranged activities.

Seniors not participating in SAT School Day are encouraged to:

  • Log in to Naviance to research college and career opportunities
  • Visit a local college virtually or in person
  • Participate in service learning or civic engagement activities
  • Complete a practice SAT to prepare for future testing opportunities
  • Create or update a resume and write a cover letter

 

All Juniors and Sophomores were automatically signed up for the PSAT/NMSQT. They will be marked as TST in SIS if they are present for testing. If they are not in school on October 11, they will be marked with regular absence coding. Students have received their testing information to their fcpsschools.net email address. The PSAT is digital this year. Students completed a digital readiness check in their advisory period. If they were absent for this advisory period, they will be pulled to complete this readiness check prior to October 11.

 

Freshman WILL NOT be in the building on this day. They will be marked USD (unscheduled school day) in SIS. On this day ninth grade students are encouraged to complete any missing work or assignments that need to be completed prior to the end of the first quarter.

CAT B students not participating in the PSAT have a regular instructional day. The teacher will mark them present or absent as normal.
