The South Lakes Seahawks are back-to-back state champions! They defended their VHSL Class 6 title with a thrilling 68-60 comeback win over C.G. Woodson on March 15. Senior star Jordan Scott dominated with 32 points, nine rebounds, and five blocks, while junior Merrick Rillstone added 21 points. The Seahawks, down at halftime, caught fire in the second half, hitting 14 of 17 shots and 13 of 14 free throws to seal the victory.

With Scott as the only returning starter, South Lakes defied expectations, winning the 6D North Region before claiming the state crown. They finished 24-4, while Woodson, battling injuries, ended 25-5. This marks an incredible 102-13 record for Scott’s four-year career. Congratulations to Coach Mike Desmond and the Seahawks on making history!
