The FCPS Excellence event was held at Fairfax High School on October 16 and was attended by Superintendent Dr. Scott Brabrand, members of the FCPS Leadership Team, members of the FCPS School Board, and other distinguished guests. Ms. Marinucci was recognized for her contributions during an informal reception and a formal ceremony. The following excerpt from her nomination packet was read while she received her certificate from Dr. Brabrand, Assistant Superintendent, Region 4 Douglas Tyson, and members of the School Board.

Ms. Marinucci brings a contagious energy to her classroom that can’t be beaten. She is constantly updating her lessons, activities, and assignments in order to meet the needs of all students and to ensure a warm and welcoming learning environment. Her 100% SOL pass rate and her 81% pass advanced rate shows her dedication to her students and her high level of success at reaching students and having them reach their max potential. Since she first set foot in the classroom, students have gravitated towards Ms. Marinucci and they strive to be their best in her classes. South Lakes High School is lucky to have her as such a vital member of their mathematics department and would be hard pressed to find someone who equals her in the classroom.

Thank you, Ms. Marinucci, for all of your all that you do to support your students and for your commitment to South Lakes High School!
