South Lakes HS Learning Center

Every Monday and Wednesday after school in the library, students can get academic support with teachers from across subject areas. Currently, no registration is needed – just come on by! View the South Lakes Learning & Retake Center Flyer.

On these same days, we have also opened a Retake Center. The Retake center aims to help staff and students with retaking and making up assessments in a centralized place so that teachers are more available for help afterschool. Students need to work with their teacher, who will schedule them for and get materials to the retake center. This is not open for drop-ins.  

We are pleased to continue the SLHS student-run Writing Center.  The Writing Center is led by student tutors with supervision from teachers from different departments. The writing center is also set up in an area of the library on Wednesdays only.  No appointment is needed and any type of assignment, college essays, scholarship essay, etc.…. are welcome.

Students have unlimited access to 24/7, on-demand, online tutoring support services through Tutor.com at no cost to families.  Students can connect online any time, any place, and in most K-12 subjects for however long they need. Tutoring may be on-demand and/or scheduled at a time convenient for the student and/or family.
